The New Normal

Think back for a moment...at the start of 2020 (remember that?) or whenever your budget rolled over PRE-covid you were thinking that this was going to be the year to get serious about intentional leadership development. Perhaps you were thinking about residency or taking your internship to the next level. Maybe we even talked and exchanged contact information at some point?

All of those things you were thinking back then are all still true.

I know we’ve all been learning how to hit a knuckle-curve (that’s a baseball reference…ahhhh baseball) the last 18 months, but it doesn’t really change anything when it comes to what is going to be needed once we reset to our new normal.

I'm old enough to remember 9-11, the downturns(s) of ‘06, the housing bust of '08, black Monday (when was that?) , and the Swine flu. These events changed us forever, but we always have reset to a new normal.

When this virus is over and we have once again normalized to our new normal we're still going to be wondering where your next staff leaders are coming from and asking the question "Who's the Next You?"

What a great time for the youngest leaders among us to innovate and think about how the church has to be the church even when it's scattered (just a little). This is an opportunity for them to step in like never before.

These are some tough weeks for sure and many of us are wondering if our church will even be around for the new normal - that's not easy and we are praying for you.

But the more things change...the more things are still the same. Young leaders need healthy places to begin in ministry, and we all need to be thinking about HOW to help them get there. You can do that.

We're here and we can take at least some of the load off of you and we can do this together.
