Reality Church

Reality church considers itself “entry-level.” They don’t mean “church-light or beginner.” But they desire to be like Jesus who let us all in on the ground floor. You don’t have to jump through hoops to come to Jesus or reality church. They are looking for someone who’d love to do a leadership residency with this fun team!

Here are some Q & A with the Executive Pastor Roger Graber.

What are your greatest hopes and dreams for the next couple of years for your organization?
That everyone that attends feels the responsibility of being the church and reaching the world with the Gospel. That they realize they are the evangelists and teachers and leaders.

Why did you choose to do a residency & what are you hoping will happen through this process?
We have a culture here of inviting young/rookie leaders onto the team and giving them a legit seat at the table. So if we can help train hireable ministry workers, even if they go elsewhere that is a win.

What is it like to work on staff there?
We have fun. If you don’t like to laugh with your team and laugh at yourself then you will definitely not like being on this team! Our staff is given a lot of freedom when it comes to the hours they work, where they work, the ability to try new things.  It is a fun environment.  There is structure, but I don’t think it is confining in any way.

Does your church’s website state the mission, vision, values and key distinctives of your church? Please paste the link: Yes you can check them out HERE

What qualities does it take to “win” on staff at your church?
Did I mention we like to have fun? Ha. Also, we have 4 staff values that we expect from everyone. Passion - is signified by whole-hearted engagement, showing up on time or early, and being a self-starter.
Serve - signified by filling the gaps, doing more than the job description, and caring for others.
Better - be a continual learner.
Together - signified by being open-handed with your resources, and caring for each other.

Who will the resident report to?  Will there be a different person acting as coach?
They’ll report to their staff leader and I (Roger) will be the coach.

Are you affiliated with a particular denomination or tribes/association of churches? If so, what websites could one investigate to gain further understanding?
No we are a non-denominational church.

What are the key doctrinal and theological issues where alignment is essential?
You can check out those things at this link

Everyone on our team would need to align with those things.

What is your average weekend attendance?
Approximately 700 folks plus online.

In general, what is your church demographic?
Lots of families. Lots of kids.

What is your church known for in the community?
A friendly, welcoming and accepting environment.  Very active serving in the community.

How much are you planning on financially compensating your resident?  Is it set or is it flexible?
It’s flexible.

What are the expected work hours and what does a typical workweek look like for this resident?
All of our meetings are on Mondays and Tuesdays.  Some of those meetings would be very important for the resident to attend.  Of course, it would be important to be there on Sundays.

Lots of freedom to get your work done all the other times of the week. We focus more on results than on when/how many.

What else would you say to a resident considering joining your team?
This is our first time doing this, so it is possible that we could suck at this.  It could go incredibly well… I can almost guarantee you will have fun. :)
