Here are some Q & A with Ron Leach GM of Operations and Development:

What are your greatest hopes and dreams for the next couple of years for your organization?
That we continue to serve churches well, see the Kingdom advance, and help as many churches as possible.

Does your organization’s website state the mission, vision, values and key distinctives of your organization?Yes, I’d recommend going here to read about our heartbeat and what makes this place special.

How many full-time employees do you currently have?
Currently around 40, but we are always growing. Plus we have a handful of Part Timers and lots of subcontractors as well. Many live in Lexington (where the residency is located) and the rest are spread out nationwide.

Please describe the current staff structure.
We run a pretty lean and effective team that consists of our Founder, two General Managers and a management team of 5 people providing leadership for the individual teams.

What qualities does it take to “win” on staff at your organization?

There are a lot of unique skills and personalities on our team, but there are a few commonalities that are pervasive throughout the organization:

We have a personal drive to help churches and set them up for success.  Almost all of our team comes from an extensive background in church, so it’s not just something we do, it’s what drives us.

We “run to the smoke”.  When our team members need help, we will jump in to help them.

We are by nature proactive, listeners, learners, hard workers…

Who will the resident report to?  Will there be a different person acting as coach?
It depends on where the resident is embedded in either the design team, church relations team, marketing, or integration/projects. There typically is a different coach than just the supervisor to ensure the resident has a well-rounded experience.

Are there particular assessment tools that you prefer when exploring potential staff people?
We tend to use Thinking Wavelengths, Enneagram & DISC when getting to know a new candidate.

How long has senior leadership been serving in your organization?
Our founder started HouseRight in 2013, I have been with them since early 2019 and Luke joined us in mid-2020.

What are the key values where alignment is critical?

Our core values:

·      Flexibility

·      Integrity

·      Commitment

·      Respect

·      Care

·      Humility

In general, what is your organization's demographic?
Introverts. Jk. Seriously though, we have a bunch of engineer-types, with a few extroverted types sprinkled in.

Where do you work?
We work all over the continental US. You’ll get the opportunity to travel a lot and see different places you might not get the chance to otherwise.

Is your organization growing?
We serve more and more churches every year and continue to ad new people to our team to meet the demand.

What is your organization known for in the community?
A team that truly helps churches. Honest. Dependable. We take the approach “if this were my church…”

How much are you planning on financially compensating your resident?  Is it set or is it flexible?
A base salary plus housing is provided, and all road expenses are covered as well.

What are the expected work hours and what does a typical workweek look like for this resident?
We work hard and play hard. Traveling about 70% of the time is normal in this role. (You’ll love those Delta Airlines rewards points)

What are three
single-word-adjectives that describe what it’s like to work on your organization staff
Dedicated
Missional
Fun

What are your greatest hopes & goals for a future resident?
We want you to leave a great set of skills that makes you a better leader than you came here (if you leave at all) and sets you on a successful and meaningful career path. We also hope you get a sense for the need in the local church for great leaders who have a heart for ministry, are technically proficient, and are excellent at their craft.
