What are your greatest hopes and dreams for the next couple of years for your church?

Our Vision is to see people connected, lives changed, and the church multiplied. As we continue to grow and make disciples, our hope is to begin planting churches/campuses throughout the thumb region of the state of Michigan.

Why did you choose to do a residency & what are you hopeful will happen through this process?
Our vision for residency is to raise up/train/coach future leaders in the Church.  Some of those leaders could become future staff members at Frankenmuth Bible Church, and others would move on to other ministries/churches.  Either way, it’s a win for the Kingdom!

What is it like to work on staff there?

Frankenmuth Bible Church is a great place to work, but it’s not an easy place to work.  Our team is compelled by a love for Christ to work hard in order to impact our region for Jesus! Some of the values that guide the way we do ministry include thinking outside the box, collaborating with other churches, evaluating everything, and having fun.

Please describe the current staff structure.

Our full-time Pastoral staff includes a Lead Pastor, Associate Pastor, Worship Pastor, and Students Pastor.  Additional Ministry Staff includes a full-time Kids Director, two part time Kids Assistants.  Administrate staff include a full-time Connection Director, full-time Technology Coordinator, and full-time Treasurer.  In addition to that, we have several support staff members responsible for maintaining building and grounds.

In 2022, we plan to bring on a full-time Executive Pastor.

What qualities does it take to “win” on staff at your church?

When staff work hard and align with our mission/vision.  We have a culture where people can make mistakes, as long as they learn and grow from them.

Who will the resident report to?  Will there be a different person acting as coach?

Our resident will report to our Worship Arts Pastor, Jordan Herrera.  In addition, they will receive coaching from our Associate Pastor and at times our Lead Pastor.

Are there particular assessment tools that you prefer when exploring potential staff people?

Enneagram, Meyers-Briggs, DISC

Are you affiliated with a particular denomination or tribes/association of churches? If so, what websites could one investigate to gain further understanding?

We are non-denominational and independent, but value partnerships with many local area/regional churches.

What are the key doctrinal and theological issues where alignment is essential?

Practically speaking, we function as a cessasionist church.  We are also complementarian.

What is your average weekend attendance?

Our current average in-person attendance is 800+ people, with a sizable and consistent base of on-line worshippers

In general, what is your church demographic?

Our primary demographic consists of young families, but there is a pretty wide range.

Is there more than one site or venue? If so, please describe.

Our Mainstreet Campus is where we hold our Sunday morning Worship Services and many midweek/weekend studies & small groups.

“The Grove”, is our Northern Campus in Frankenmuth, and it functions as a community center /hub for our Student Ministry.

How many conversions has your church had in the past 12 months? (however you define this and whatever you count)

We see life change all the time with people who are unbelieving/unchurched/dechurched.  We typically baptize 40-50 people per year.

What percentage of people are involved in a small group?

Currently around 35 percent of people are in a small group or men’s/women’s group.

What is your church known for in the community?
Generosity, Love, Service, Authentic Worship, Practical Bible Teaching.

How much are you planning on financially compensating your resident?  Is it set or is it flexible?

We have residency in our budget, so the pay would probably be set.

What are the expected work hours and what does a typical workweek look like for this resident?

We’d like the resident to join us for weekly staff meetings on Tuesday mornings, Wednesday night worship rehearsals, and Sunday mornings.  Outside of that, hours can be a little more flexible.  Some of the other expectations on hours are TBD by our Worship Pastor.

What else would you say to a resident considering joining your team?

Our current tentative plans include renovating the upper level of The Grove into residency housing. This space would be a great place to live in Frankenmuth.

Additionally, Frankenmuth Michigan is a great place to live, with lots of things to do.  For more info, visit: frankenmuth.org
